MATHS

Objectives:

To count to and from 100 and from any given number.  

To order, find 1 more and less to 100 

To compare numbers sentences up to 100. 

To continual to count in 10’s, 2s and 5s

Know doubles and halves. 

Understand ½ and ¼ of an amount and numbers. 

Understand repeated addition 2+2++2=6 or 2x3=6 

Start to look at multiplication as group’s of

 

  

 

 

My Mathematics target is:
To know the place value of numbers up to 100.  

 

ENGLISH

 

Our book this half term is going to be Room on the broom.  

 

 

In our English lessons we are going to be:


  • Reading the story together.
  • Learning new words and their meanings to widen our vocabulary.
  • Writing words to describe the witch and other animals.  
  • Writing simple sentences to describe the witch
  • Writing simple sentences to retell the story.
  • Completing simple comprehension questions.
  • Creating and writing potions.
  • Understanding rhymes.

 

 

 

My English target is:

  

 

"To write sentences independently using and or because"

 

e.g.: The cat is black and brown.

Was the Great Fire of London Great?

 

 

In this topic we will look at:


  • What is a bakery and how we made bread?
  • What is the great fire of London and how it started?
  • How London changed after the GFL?
  • Fire service and how it has changed through the years.

Other useful information for this 1/2 term:

 

 

  • Please make sure your child’s reading book is in school at all times. 
  • Please can we ask that you take care of books sent home? We have had lots of damaged and lost books this year.
  • PE is Thursday – children to come in outdoor kit for the day.  
  • Long hair needs to be tied up
  • Some children will come home with words they need to learn to spell and read from this week.
