Spring Half Term Objectives

MATHS

 

 

Objectives:

 

  • Reading, writing, recognising numbers to 50
  • Counting in tens, twos and fives..
  • To compare numbers and order them on a number line.
  • To know one more and one less than a number.
  • To know and compare length, height and capacity.

 

 

 

  

 

 

My Mathematics target is:

To recognise numbers to 50 and use them in different ways.

  

 

ENGLISH

Our book this half term is going to be Paddington.

 

  

 

 

 In our English lessons we are going to be:

  • Reading the story together.
  • Learning new words and their meanings to widen our vocabulary.
  • Writing words to describe Paddington and using adjectives.
  • Writing simple sentences to describe Paddington.
  • Writing simple sentences to retell the story.
  • Completing simple comprehension questions.
  • Writing simple instruction to make a Marmalade sandwich.
  • Write a simple letter to Paddington.

Other useful information for this 1/2 term:

 

  • Maths homework given on Friday to hand in on Tuesday.

  • Spellings given on Friday and test is on the following Friday.

  • Please make sure your child’s reading book is in school everyday. We will we collecting them in everyday so we could hear your child anyday.


    READING IS REALLY IMPORTANT AND IT IS CRUCIAL YOU READ AT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD.

  • PE is Tuesday & Friday children to come in PE kits on these days Reminder

    it should be a school t-shirt or navy blue and a navy blue or black tracksuit.

  • Water bottles are required everyday.

  • Tuck is £1 a week or 20p a day. If children bring their own tuck we try to encourage a healthy snack.
